No-exam life insurance
How to know if you qualify for faster approval, what happens if you do, and what the process looks like if you don't.
Many insurance companies now offer accelerated underwriting: if you're within their age and coverage limits, they review your application, medical history from pharmacies, your driving record, and other data without needing someone to visit you. Many approvals come through the same day. Every quote on this site tells you whether an exam is needed, might be needed, or isn't needed.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no underwriting. Your statements get checked, and a policy based on wrong answers can be rescinded within the first two years. If the carrier's records raise issues, they can still ask for an exam; you're free to decide whether to continue.
Who tends to qualify
Usually people under about 60 who apply for amounts below what each carrier considers their threshold, with no serious health conditions and no tobacco use for at least a year. Some carriers will use recent bloodwork from your doctor's office instead of ordering their own exam.
An exam, if required, is typically a 20 to 30 minute appointment at your home or office in the Culver City area, and you pay nothing. For healthy people, the exam results often lead to a better rate class, so it's not necessarily a drawback.
